Club chief ‘declares Arsenal player wanted’

Arsenal are believed to be powerless in keeping Egypt international midfielder Mohamed Elneny at the Emirate Stadium as he is already being wanted by Italian Serie A outfit AS Roma director of football Monchi.

The star player went down the pecking order in the North London team since the arrival of manager Unai Emery in the summer window as against what the situation was for him last season.

It became more difficult for Mohamed Elneny with the arrival of Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torriera as both players took over his position at the middle by winning the heart of the manager.

However, the Egypt international has earlier made it clear that he wants to leave with reports linking him to some Premier League sides but latest report claims he is wanted at the Italian Serie A side.

AS Roma chief is reported to be a big fan of the former Basel player and has him top the list of prospective newcomers of the club.

Mohamed Elneny has got a contract running with Arsenal until 2022 but there are indications that he will not be staying to see out his deal owing to his lack of playing time at the Emirate Stadium under the Spanish coach.
