Mario Hermoso

It has been suggested that the interest by the north London outfit Arsenal in the signature of Spanish La Liga outfit Espanyol defender Mario Hermoso during the summer transfer window should be taken seriously.

The Gunners team conceded well over 50 goals in the course of the just concluded season which raises concerns over their ability to hold on to win a title.

This has been identified by manager Unai Emery which is why he is making an attempt to secure the signature of the La Liga star but he has been advised to move in for the deal knowing that he would not be able to challenge for titles without new and quality defenders.

Laurent Koscielny, who suffered a major injury, could not manage to hold on the defence when he eventually joined up while Sokratis Papa has not been convincing to pundits despite giving a good level of performance and it is disturbing that they are in their 30s with age not on their side.

However, Mario Hermoso is only 23 and has gathered a lot of experience as a young player to posses the quality to play at a top level for Arsenal. He has been impressive and has given good displays for Espanyol in the course of last season.
