Chelsea Submit £15M To Bring Star Player To Stamford Bridge

Chelsea are showing seriousness to bring in Danny Drinkwater from Leicester City before the end of this summer transfer window, and they have submitted a £15M bid for the player.

However, there were reports that Drinkwater’s club have rejected the bid from the premier league champions, and that the Stamford Bridge club have so far refused to follow-up after seeing their bid being rejected.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is keen on bringing in another midfielder to bolster his options in midfield after Serbian star Nemanja Matic left for Old Trafford last month.

His side has landed Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco even before the Serb moved on to reunite with his former manager Jose Mourinho at Manchester United, but the Italian manager believes further reinforcements are necessary ahead of a busy season.

Apart from Danny, the duo of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Ross Barkley have also been linked with Chelsea. But it is understood that Drinkwater is needed more than the Arsenal man and the Everton star.

And The Telegraph reported that the west London club have submitted an initial offer of £15M for Danny some weeks back, but have not followed up with something better.

The England international is said to be valued over £30million by his club and the club prefers keeping him for this season.
