AS Roma star player Antonio Rudiger has emerged as a target for Chelsea this summer after being linked with a move to the English top flight.
And in a new development, according to reports in Italy, the premier league champions are in talks to sign the defender from the Serie A club.
Gianluca Di Marzio revealed that Rudiger’s brother and agent is travelling to London to negotiate with the Stamford Bridge club.
It was also added that the early figure between Chelsea and Roma for the German star is €35 million (£30.8m), although a fee is yet to be agreed between both clubs.
It is understood that Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is a big admirer of the Germany international and the Italian manager made an attempt to bring him to west London last summer.
Chelsea had also reportedly agreed a €25 Million deal with the Italian club but Rudiger suffered a cruciate ligament injury in June which hindered the deal.
Antonio is a versatile talent who is capable of playing in central defence or at right-back. He, however, missed the start of last season due to the issue but was still able to make 35 appearances in all competitions for his Italian club.
The English champions are still in the market for a new central defender and have also been linked with the likes of Leonardo Bonucci and Virgil van Dijk.
