Liverpool Legend Send Warning To Man United Over Arsenal Star Player

Mesut Ozil

Liverpool legend Mark Lawrenson warns Jose Mourinho over singing Mesut Ozil for Manchester United in the upcoming January transfer window.

The former reds man does not believe the Old Trafford club will need a player like Ozil in their club.

The Germany international will be out of contract by the end of the season, and there were some speculations the North London club may sell him when January comes instead of losing him for nothing next summer.

The talented midfielder has been linked with the likes of Manchester United and Real Madrid in recent times, and even Schalke are suggesting they will love to bring him back to Germany.

The 29-year-old is also said to be interested in reuniting with his former manager Jose Mourinho at Manchester United, having worked under the Portuguese boss back then at Real Madrid.

However, Liverpool legend Lawrenson believes Ozil’s playing style and attitude does not fit with what Jose currently have at Old Trafford, and that the Portuguese manager won’t sign him next year.

“[Ozil] would not fit into the Mourinho blueprint of a player [at Man United].” the legend said.

The 29-year-old was not part of the party that won Burnley during their recent premier league game due to an illness.

Up next for Arsene Wenger’s side is a home game against Huddersfield on Wednesday night, and Mesut is still a doubt for the game.
