Chelsea Encourage Liverpool To Get Star Player’s Signature

There are new reports that Manchester City are at the forefront of getting Virgil Van Dijk’s signature, and they will be signing the talented Dutchman with £60M.

The former Celtic defender was heavily linked with a move to Anfield during the summer transfer window, and he even submitted a transfer request to force his way out of St Mary’s.

Liverpool were forced to pause the move and issue an apology to Southampton after the Saints threatened to report them to the FA for approaching the player illegally without permission from them.

The Merseyside, however, remain interested in the highly-rated defender, but the Telegraph made it known that Manchester City could actually sign him ahead of Jurgen Klopp’s side next year.

Right now, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is alarmed and worried about how van Dijk would add more quality to Pep Guardiola’s side should the Dutchman make the move.

Conte is worried that things will get more difficult for other clubs in the premier league if Man City should get all the best players in the continent, and the Italian tactician wants other premier league clubs to stop Guardiola from getting Virgil’s signature.

The Saints have decided to sell Van Dijk, and Pep is confident he can beat Conte and Klopp to the player’s signature in January.
