Done Deal! Chelsea complete first winter transfer business

Chelsea’s first business of the winter transfer window seems to be sealed with reports that Brazil youngster Kenedy has agreed to join Newcastle on loan as soon as the winter window opens.

The Brazil international has not been able to seal a regular shirt at Stamford Bridge and is now ready to link up with ex-Chelsea manager Rafael Benitez at Newcastle, as reported by the Daily Mail.

Elsewhere in today’s papers, the London Evening Standard states it could be a hectic New Year for manager Antonio Conte, who is also interested in bringing quality players in to strengthen his attack.

The reigning Premier League Champion have been linked with the likes of French international forward Thomas Lemar and England forward Ross Barkley, though a transfer for Bayer Leverkusen attacker Leon Bailey seems very unlikely.

Blues supporters will hope the Brazilian’s loan can see the attacker gain some needed experience and see him get back to the club a much-improved player.

Kennedy, 21, joined Chelsea as an exciting youngster in 2015 but hasn’t lived up to his potentials so far.

He has only played 25 times for the Blues and also had a poor loan spell at Watford, where he played only one match in 2016/17.
