Barcelona have moved ahead of Real Madrid in the pursuit of Paris Saint Germaine midfielder Marco Verratto, according to reports.
The Italian ace has been tipped to leave the Ligue 1 side, with the likes of Real Madrid and Chelsea reported to be in for his signature.
Barcelona have also been credited with interest for Verratti as they look to begin a re-building process next summer.
Reports in Spanish outlet Don Balon have it that the Italian has decided to join Barcelona ahead of Real Madrid next summer as he is keen to play alongside Lionel Messi at the Camp Nou next season.
The report suggests that Verratti was thrilled by Lionel Messi’s performance against Real Madrid last Sunday and has asked his representatives to finalize a deal to see him play alongside the Argentine wizard next season.
It is understood that the Catalan giants are keen on landing a replacement for Andre Iniesta during the summer window.
