Manchester United are on the verge of signing Monaco star Bernardo Silva next summer, according to reports.
The midfielder has been an impressive figure with the Ligue 1 side, drawing interest from several clubs in Europe.
Reports in France Football claims that the Red Devils are in advanced talks to sign Silva next summer.
It is understood that the deal could cost them around £42.5million and United are willing to meet this valuation.
Bernando Silva has been a key part of Monaco’s wonderful run in the Champions League and also in the French Ligue 1, where they are currently at the top of the league.
The Portuguese arrived Monaco in 2014 on an initial loan move from Benfica before making the deal permanent six months later.
The Ligue 1 side is expected to net huge sum in a potential deal for the midfielder having bought for just £14million in 2014 from Benfica.
There are reports that United still face competition from the likes of Chelsea and Real Madrid for Silva’s signature.
It is understood that Jose Mourinho wants to add more bite to the current Manchester United squad and will sign a couple of players next summer and might also allow some fringe players in the squad leave at the end of the season.
