Arsene Wenger make strong claim regarding Aubameyang transfer

North London giants Arsenal are evidently very keen on signing former African footballer of the year Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this month.

After the exit of Chilean Alexis Sanchez and the signing of Armenian international attacking midfielder of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, it looks like the Gunners want to make another major statement signing and the African appears to top their wishlist.

Arsenal want to bring another quality forward to the ranks and the Gabon international has been linked strongly recently. However, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, as cited by Sky Sports, has confirmed that a transfer deal between his club and German side Borussia Dortmund for the exciting forward is not close yet.

The North Londoners may be in negotiations as regards a transfer for Aubameyang but it looks like they are still way away from agreeing with Borussia Dortmund, who are thought to be interested in receiving about £60million from the offload of their player.

Arsenal and France international striker Olivier Giroud is also on the wishlist of Borussia Dortmund, which could result in the forward being involved in an exchange move with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Asked if the Gunners forward Giroud could go to Borussia Dortmund as a part of any transfer deal, Arsene Wenger said the negotiations are not very far as that.
