Arsene Wenger confirms Alexis Sanchez will remain at the Emirates next season despite Man City interest

As the winter transfer window moves closer, there is a rumour that league leaders Manchester City are still heavily keen on signing Chilean Alexis Sanchez, however, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger does not see the former Barcelona forward joining Pep’s team in January.

The French tactician believes that his most prized asset will remain at the Emirates Stadium until his contract runs out next summer. A new deal might not be offered at the moment but allowing the Chilean go in January is one option for Arsene Wenger and the North London club.

In the Manchester City match pre-game presser, the Arsenal boss rubbished rumours about fans and pundits alike, questioning the striker’s commitment to the side via Goal.com.

Arsene Wenger refuted claims from the press and the general public that the Chilean was not motivated against Manchester City last Weekend. The manager jumped into the defence of his star man by insisting that the forward gives 100 percent each time he wears the Arsenal jersey. He further insisted that the attacker will remain at the club because the team needs him.

The Gunners lost to Manchester City 3-1 and the side will need to bounce back this weekends international break when they lock horns with Spurs at The Emirates Stadium and Alexis Sanchez will be hoping to score more goals, to add to his one goal so far in the Premier League this season and get one over their fiercest enemy.
