Arsenal Team News, Injury Update, Starting XI vs. Man City

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed that injured players like Skhrodan Mustafi and Aaron Ramsey will still miss the huge clash with title rivals Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday evening in what is a week 17 fixture in the English Premier League (EPL) this season.

The 67-year old also stated that the players available to him are the ones he employed during the last league game against Everton at Goodison Park on Tuesday and that there are no additions as none of his injured players have recovered in time for the game against Pep Guardiola’s team.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of the game, Wenger said: “Ahead of Manchester City we should have the same squad who went to Everton.”

“Nobody (is) back, Ramsey is not back in time but he is closest to coming back. We have some knocks and bruises but they [the squad from Everton] should all be available again.” he further added.

He also provided a cheering update on the rehabilitation of long term injury absentee Danny Welbeck as the former AS Monaco boss said: “Danny Welbeck is one week away from completing normal training.”

“To be back in the squad; that will take some time because he wasn’t played for a long, long time.” he concluded.

Arsene Wenger would be hoping his side could bounce back in Sunday’s game after their title aspirations suffered a massive dent when they were beaten 2-1 by Everton in the previously mentioned league clash. Other notable Arsenal stars still on the sidelines aside Ramsey and Mustafi include Spanish playmaker Santi Cazorla and skipper Per Mertersacker.

Arsenal Starting XI: Cech; Bellerin, Gabriel, Koscielny, Monreal; Coquelin, Xhaka; Walcott, Ozil, Iwobi; Sanchez
