Arsenal close to securing deal for 19-year-old youngster

English Premier League side Arsenal are close to securing a deal for Hertha BSC star Arne Maier after it is reported that they are leading in the race for his signature ahead of the winter transfer window in coming weeks.

The report also claim that the North London side are set to make an offer that will have the star join the Emirates Stadium with Aaron Ramsey set to leave the club at the end of the season while Mohamed Elneny is also pushing for a move away from the club for his inability to break into the team.

According to reports, Gunners boss Unai Emery is also a big fan of the star midfielder and he is believed to be ready to break the bank to secure his signature.

United have also shown interest in the Die Alte Dame youth academy product but they are believed to have lost out of the race with the North London side already leading.

The German has got a release clause of £20 million but suggestions are that it would increase with the interests in him and also his improved performance should he leave before 2022 when his contract with his side will run out.
