Kalidou Koulibaly

Italian Serie A outfit Napoli star defender Kalidou Koulibaly seem to have caught the attention of all the top clubs in the English Premier League following latest reports.

Manchester United were believed to be in the race for the star player having identified him as the ideal man to solve their defensive problems.

However, the Gunners who are running short of defenders are reported to have entered the race in a bid to hijack the deal for their Manchester rivals.

The Senegal international is not only interesting Arsenal and Man United, but he is also reported to be interesting West London side Chelsea alongside other clubs outside England.

The North London side are currently into crisis with their defensive line as Rob Holding and Mavropanos have been out to injury while Laurent Koscielny is already 33-year-old and will need a replacement.

Gunners manager Unai Emery has therefore hinted that his side could be forced into doing business when the winter transfer window reopens in January and it is now reported that he is ready to pay big for the Napoli star.

The 27-year-old is tipped as one of the best central defenders in Europe which is why he has been handed a release clause of about £60 million.
