Liverpool have been told that winning the English Premier League only starts with winning the highly anticipated game against Man United in the Premier League.
The Merseyside club are currently second in the Premier league table behind defending champions Man City but they have earned same 65 points with Liverpool having a game at hand which would be played on Sunday.
A win for the Reds will mean that they go up on the log with three points clear and a former defender Phil Thompson claims that his former side will not give up the top spot as long as they are able to mount it.
The Liverpool legend hopes the dominance of his former side continues to win the title this season having missed out of the opportunity last season.
The last time Liverpool won a Premier League title was in 1990 with so many trials in the past. Manager Jurgen Klopp has been tipped to break the deadlock by ensuring he also wins his first title in his three-year reign at the club.
However, Man City will have to wait for the Sunday result to know their fate with Pep Guardiola stating that they are ready to give the last fight to win the title.
