Alexis Sanchez close to signing new Arsenal deal

Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez was reportedly set to renew his contract with the North London club and had a verbal agreement to do so last year December before opting to change his mind.

The Chilean is now heading towards departing the Emirates Stadium for free, and it was the gunners 10-2 aggregate loss to FC Bayern Munich in last campaign’s UEFA Champions League that made him not to sign, as per the Times.

Table toppers Manchester City now look ready to sign Sanchez on a free move next summer window on a big-money deal, as per the Daily Mirror, in what will be a big blow for Arsenal.

The former Barcelona star has been one of the Gunners most important figures in recent seasons and is seen as one of the best-attacking players across Europe on his day.

The thought of Sanchez playing alongside Manchester City’s other top-class forwards is a frightening one for the remainder of the English Premier League, but he’s surely more likely to win major titles at the Etihad Stadium.

Sanchez, 29, has only won two English FA Cups with Arsenal, and it’s no shock that the humiliating defeat at the hands of the Bundesliga giant proved something of an eye opener for him.
