Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy saw his salary doubled last season. And according to the latest news circulating around the media, his players have been ‘stunned’ by the information.

A handful of Tottenham players are not happy with what they currently earn at the London club.

Some months back, Danny Rose publicly criticised the club’s wage structure.

Last summer, the Englishman, who has caught the attention of various top sides including Manchester United, earns just £65,000 each week at the club. Of course, the club addressed his statement, but things remained the same.

Toby Alderweireld is the latest Spurs star publicly showing his displeasure with the club’s payment structure. The talented player believes he is worth more than what the club offers, and he’s glaringly avoiding signing a new contract at Tottenham.

Toby has been linked with a move away from the club in recent times after emerging as a target for the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea.

New reports made it known that Tottenham Hotspur players were surprised their chairman earns so much money while paying them ‘stipends’ (at least, compared to what top players in other top clubs are earning)

Last season, Daniel earned some whopping £6.013M – which is far beyond what other premier league chiefs earns.

Currently, reports suggest the mood amongst the players is an unpleasant one which could make some of them push for a move away from the club.

Manchester United will welcome the new development to get their two major targets: Danny Rose and Toby Alderweireld.
