Finally, United get reply from Diego Godin

Manchester United have been linked with a move for Atletico Madrid star defender Diego Godin and they have reportedly received a reply from the player.

According to the report from TuttoMercatoWeb, the Red Devils had submitted an offer to the Spanish La Liga outfit as well as handing the star defender a contract worth £6.3 million per season to come to the Old Trafford.

It was not clear of the Spanish side on their part accepted the offer from the English Premier League side but reports claim that the star defender rejected the offer from Man United as he decides to remain with Atletico Madrid.

However, there are suggestions that Diego Godin could be heading to the Italian Serie A outfit Inter Milan having received a bid form the San Siro side as well.

This means that United could just end their pursuit of Diego Godin and face other direction as the Uruguay international might have made up his mind on his destination.

The Red Devils are keen to add more options to their team as a way of improving the squad for the second half of the season so as to push for a Champions League qualification with a top four finish.
