Naby Keita

Liverpool have been dealt a major injury blow in their pursuit of Premier League glory and Champions League honour after midfielder Naby Keita was ruled out for the remainder of the season.

Naby Keita will miss the next two months with the hip injury he sustained during the Champions League clash with Spanish champions Barcelona.

The Guinean international sustained the hip problem in the first half of the Champions League semifinal first leg clash with the Spaniards.

As a result of the injury, Naby Keita will miss the final two games of the season in the Premier League.

The extent of his injury was confirmed by Reds manager Jurgen Klopp during his pre-match press conference on Friday morning ahead of the Premier League clash with Newcastle United at the St. James’ Park on Saturday evening.

Naby Keita will miss the league game at Newcastle United on Sunday evening as well as the final league game of the season at home to high-flyers Wolverhampton Wanderers.

He will also sit out the second leg meeting with Barcelona at Anfield next week Tuesday.

He will also miss the Champions League final if Liverpool manage to overturn the 3-0 deficit against Barcelona.

Naby Keita is also a big doubt for Guinea ahead of the 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON).
