Breaking! Champions League winner set to join Arsenal despite Chelsea interest in a £15m- yearly deal

Arsenal are allegedly confident of beating City rivals Chelsea to the naming of former FC Barcelona boss Luis Enrique as their new manager despite his massive wage demands.

Arsenal keen on Spaniard

As reported by Daily Mirror, Arsenal are sure they can complete a deal for the tactician demanding £15million-yearly to take over at the North London club due to their connections to him through the clubs head of football relations Raul Sanllehi.

They both worked together at Catalan side FC Barcelona and might be reunited in London next term as the Gunners weigh up a couple of top-name managers for the job.

Preferred choice

It seems the Spaniard is the preferred choice of manager ahead of the tacticians like Joachim Low, Leonardo Jardim, and Brendan Rodgers, as per the Mirror.

New challenge in England

Although the Gunners would be a completely different challenge, the tactician impressed in his 3 year stint at FC Barcelona, where he won the treble in his debut campaign in charge.

Enrique, 47, won’t have top quality players like Neymar or Lionel Messi on his books if the Spaniard joins Arsenal, but he got the Barcelona coaching job on the back of good stints with Celta Vigo and Roma as well.

He has long been strongly linked with West London giant Chelsea as well as Italian tactician Antonio Conte seem likely to leave the club this summer, as per the Mirror.
