First signing? Chelsea set to beat Ligue 1 giants to the transfer of £176million star

According to reports, Chelsea are interested in securing the signature of Real Madrid star Casemiro in the summer window, with Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain also keen.

Midfielder set for Premier League switch

The Premier League giants have been strongly linked with the Brazil international before, with top publication Don Balon claiming earlier this campaign that they’d submit a bid for the midfielder.

The same publication is now reporting the Blues are pursuing him again in an ambitious transfer for a player who’s is now one of the most important members of the Real Madrid team in recent years.

Reinforcement required in midfield

Considering the poor form of Danny Drinkwater and Tiemoue Bakayoko since Serbian Nemanja Matic left for Manchester United, it is not a shock to see the Blues targeting a quality defensive midfielder.

The South American is, without doubt, one of Europe’s best and that’s why the French giants are also being named as suitors, though Spanish reports have previously suggested that he has a buyout clause as much as £176million.

Real Madrid will certainly not want to offload the 26-year-old for any less than the release clause if possible, but we’ll have to wait and see if the Blues can pay that much.
