Antonio Conte urged to drop star ahead of Barcelona clash

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has been adviced to drop youngster Andreas Christensen and correct his rift with defender David Luiz by football pundit Garth Crooks.

Youngster favoured at Stamford Bridge

The Italian has largely favoured Danish starlet Christensen over the Brazilian this campaign, though Garth Crooks feels it’s time to change after another poor display by the young defender in the victory over Crystal Palace.

The Blues were unconvincing as they defeated Crystal Palace last weekend, and Andreas Christensen was singled out by the football pundit as someone who should be dropped.

Costly error

Christensen, 21, recently made a dreadful mistake in the UEFA Champions League draw with Catalan giant FC Barcelona as Chelsea conceded a crucial away goal to superstar forward Lionel Messi.

Despite long being tagged as a top young talent, it looks like it may be time for Italian tactician Antonio Conte to relax the pressure on the young defender after making him a regular figure for a top side at such a tender age.

For all David Luiz’s flaws, the pundit feels it’s time for the former Italy and Juventus head coach to end his standing rift with the Brazilian international and bring him back into the first team.
