It appears Shakhtar Donetsk star player Fred is destined to play in the premier league next season.
According to new reports, Pep Guardiola’s Man City have agreed to a £44.5million deal with the Ukrainian club for his signature.
The samba star has been heavily linked with a move away from Shakhtar Donetsk in recent times after catching the attention of a handful of top European clubs with his superb performances this season.
Both Manchester United and Manchester City are understood to be interested in signing him and they have been monitoring him for some time.
But it appears Pep Guardiola is more desperate to get Fred’s signature. The premier league leaders made a move for the Brazilian player last month, but it couldn’t see the light of the day before the closure of the window.
But according to new reports, the citizens have agreed a deal in principle with Shakhtar Donetsk and the player will move to the Etihad Stadium once the summer window opens.
Pep has been in the market for a talented midfielder that can provide competition for Fernandinho in his team, and he has made Fred a priority target.
The 24-year-old has been impressive at Shakhtar Donetsk and is one of the best players playing in Ukraine presently.
