40-year-old Chelsea legend, Didier Drogba has announced his return to Chelsea football club as an ambassador for shirt sponsors Yokohama Tyres.
The deal with Yokohama is part of their new ‘Drive for More’ initiative and the campaign will run across India, France, Malaysia, Spain, Vietnam and Portugal.
The ex Chelsea point man will also have a forum with Chelsea supporters as well as Yokohama customers who he will rub minds with.
Speaking on this latest collaboration, he said: ‘Chelsea has been a huge part of my life and career, and I am so proud of the continued popularity of the club across the world.’
The Ivorian striker who joined the Blues from Marseille in 2004 scored a remarkable 167 goals for Chelsea in his two stints at the club.

He was voted the Blues’ greatest ever player by fans in 2012 at the height of his striking prowess for the west London club winning three Premier League titles, four FA Cups, two English League Cups and the UEFA Champions League.
Following the departure of Chelsea football club’s sporting director, Michael Emenalo, it was rumoured that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich could look to bring Drogba back to the club as Emenalo’s replacement.
The former Ivory Coast international admitted early last year that he hopes to return to Chelsea at some point in his career. The former Chelsea striker reportedly told Sky Sports: ‘Chelsea is my home,’
‘So even if I travel, at the end of the day you always come back home. And I hope one day I will come back home.’
