Chelsea suffer double transfer setback; could miss out on Star duo

According to Football London, Chelsea could allegedly miss out on securing the service of Roma pair, Edin Dzeko and defender Emerson Palmieri, due to the winter transfer window closing in a matter of days.

The Premier League Champions have been strongly linked with a transfer for former Premier League striker Edin Dzeko to come to Chelsea as Spain striker Alvaro Morata seems to be injured, and Belgium international striker Michy Batshuayi has been informed he can leave by manager Antonio Conte, while England youngster Tammy Abraham stays on loan at Swansea City.

This transfer move became a £44million move for a pair from AS Roma, with the former Manchester City striker and left fullback Emerson Palmieri making the transfer to Chelsea, as has been claimed for the last couple of weeks during this winter transfer window.

The transfer for the left back would provide more competition for Spaniard Marcos Alonso but would also send Ghanian Baba Rahman on loan, most likely to Schalke.

The major reason that news reports are coming out saying that the move will not materialize is because of representatives’ fees and talks between the two actual sides.

There is hope for Chelsea boss Antonio Conte that the move could be sealed today but the move will have to be sealed by 12 pm tonight.
