Barcelona set to snatch hot prospect from Chelsea

According to reports, Chelsea youngster Andreas Christensen has attracted interest from FC Barcelona, just as he just begins to seal his first-team spot at Stamford Bridge.

Christensen, 21, has broken into the Blues side this campaign, playing 21 matches in all competitions as he has successfully displaced Brazilian David Luiz in defence.

Considering his young age, talent and enough time for improvement, the youngster will be seen as a vital part of the Blues long-term planning, and so Chelsea will surely do all they could to keep hold of the Dane at Stamford Bridge.

However, as per The Mirror, the Catalan giants could be about to make complicate that plan as they now have a suitor and rival for the Danish international defender, which will surely be a worry for Chelsea.

Barcelona currently lacks options in defence beyond Gerard Pique and Samuel Umtiti, it’s obvious why Barcelona are looking at signing a defender, as they only have Belgian Thomas Vermaelen and Argentine defender Javier Mascherano available at the moment to step in as like-for-like alternatives.

As a result, an approach for Andreas Christensen, who is a hot-prospect looks to have a bright future ahead of him, could be the right signing for Barcelona, especially with Gerard Pique getting older as the Spaniard turn 31 next month.
