North London giant Arsenal have started working towards renewing contracts early enough in a bid to prevent a similar scenario that played out this summer.
Arsenal had three highly rated players with deals set to run out next summer and aimed to keep them this summer and risk losing them for nothing at the end of this summer, as against cashing in on them now for huge fees.
Chile international Alexis Sanchez and Germany international Mesut Ozil eventually stayed at the North London club, but England international Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was sold to the Reds for £35million after he turned down a new contract.
As per Daily Mail, the Gunners have already started considering renewing the deal of players whose contracts expire in 2019.
Nine Arsenal players in total will have a year left on their deals at the end of the campaign as it stands, including Welsh Aaron Ramsey, Frenchman Olivier Giroud, Englishman Theo Walcott and Cech Petr Cech.
England international striker Danny Welbeck is another of such, as is Spaniard Nacho Monreal, while fringe stars David Ospina, Debuchy and Akpom are also coming close the end of their Arsenal deals.
As a result, the Gunners are planning swift talks to prevent another summer full of uncertainty.
