Before the end of last season, Real Madrid star player Alvaro Morata has been heavily linked with a move away from the Bernabeu this summer, with various top clubs set to pounce on his signature.
In a new development however, there are reports that the Spaniard is set to seal the long-awaited move away from the Spanish capital and he is close to joining Serie A side AC Milan.
Morata has been chased by a handful of clubs and we all thought Europa League winners Manchester United are going to land him at Old Trafford. However, the red devils eventually persuade Chelsea’s long-term target Romelu Lukaku to become part of Jose Mourinho’s squad at Old Trafford.
The premier league champions are still in search of a new striker with the departure of Diego Costa to Atletico Madrid getting closer. With Chelsea also understood to have put Alvaro at the top of their wish list after missing out on Romelu.
But Italian news outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport reported that AC Milan have intensified talks with Real Madrid for Morata and are on the verge of getting a deal done.
Despite initially ruling out a move to the Italian top flight, the striker has been reportedly convinced to move to the Italian capital.
