Liverpool signing of Virgil sends a clear message to Man United management

The big news this week is how Liverpool splashed a whopping £75 Million to secure Virgil Van Dijk’s signature from Southampton.

The Netherlands international will finalise the move to Liverpool when the January window opens.

And according to certain reports, Klopp’s record move for the Dutchman could have an effect on Man United’s transfers plans for the coming year.

The £75M the Anfield club paid for Virgil’s signature have turned him into the most expensive defender in football history.

He was heavily linked with the reds during the past summer transfer window, but Liverpool were forced to issue an apology to Southampton after the Saints threatened to report them to the FA for approaching the defender illegally.

Few days back, Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho complained over the lack of money his side spent since he took over the mantle of leadership at Old Trafford.

And while many critics were calling for his head (after spending a whopping £300M since becoming boss at the club), Liverpool’s £75M deal for Van Dijk took place!

And according to reports, the Old Trafford club are now concerned that other top rivals would be spending heavily next year to sign superb stars for their respective sides.

Even Arsenal, a club known for the habit of spending just few pounds during transfer windows, are recently linked with expensive players.
