Rojo: This Is The Reason I’m Performing Well At Old Trafford

Manchester United player Marcos Rojo is recently talking about his current display of superb performances under coach Jose Mourinho at the Old Trafford.

When the special one arrived United, Rojo wasn’t fully involved in all activities but needed to wait until his team’s 3-1 over Swansea City in early November for his first Premier League start.

Since then, the Argentine keeps surprising everyone with a strong partnership alongside defender Phil Jones. The  26-year-old continue startling his critics as Mourinho keeps featuring him in every Premier League game.

Speaking to MUTV, the player talked about the past year and how he’s looking ahead to upcoming contests with Sunderland and Middlesbrough.

“I think it’s been an interesting year for me,”he said.

“Various things happened. I had the FA Cup win at United and then went on to the Copa America. Unfortunately, we (Argentina) weren’t able to win that but it was still an important moment for me.

“Now, at this time of the season, at the end of the year, we need to finish strongly and win as many games as possible. Looking towards 2017, we must play as well as we can and, hopefully, why not win a trophy at some point.”

“Obviously, it would be lovely to have a little rest and spend some time with my family but I understand the tradition during this time. The atmosphere is particularly special in the stadium so it’s something I enjoy.”

Rojo’s case is another pointer to how ‘special’ Jose Mourinho is. Rojo who was once an unreliable confidence-less defender has been now influenced by the Portuguese tactician and is now competing with the likes of Eric Bailly and Chris Smalling.

It is quite obvious that Rojo’s confidence has been restored and he now has belief in himself.
