This Chelsea man will leave Stamford Bridge Next Year – Sky Sports pundit

Sky Sports football analyst Paul Merson has said that he strongly believes defender David Luiz will leave Stamford Bridge in January.

Luiz, 30, has not played in the last six English Premier League matches with a knee problem keeping him out of action, although as cited by Sky Sports, there was an alleged fall-out with Italian tactician Antonio Conte a month ago too.

This has raised a lot of question marks over his Chelsea future, with Denmark international defender Andreas Christensen emerging as a perfect replacement in his role in his absence, while the youngster naturally provides a long-term option considering he’s still just 21.

With the Blues challenging on a number of competition this term though, it could be also argued that the former Juventus boss could do with a lot of players, and especially with the quality and experience that the Brazilian brings to the table that alleged row can be put away.

However, the Sky Sports pundit is convinced that Luiz will go in the winter transfer window as for him, it looks like as though the deed is done.

After securing the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Champions League success in his former stint with the Blues, the exciting Brazilian added an English Premier League crown to his cabinet last term after returning from French Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain.
