Chelsea could sign £100m man as Arsenal Star head out of Emirates Stadium

Premier League Champions Chelsea could have an opportunity to secure the signature of Inter Milan forward Mauro Icardi without problems with the latest news suggesting La Liga giants Real Madrid could attempt an offer for Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez instead.

The Chile international forward is ready to exhaust his contract at the club in the summer transfer window, and Don Balon suggest the UEFA Champions League winners are sure this means they could sign the former Barcelona star for a few as low as £26million in the New Year.

The Spanish publication reports that Real Madrid are looking at the Arsenal star as a cheap option to top transfer target Mauro Icardi, whom the Sun recently linked with a switch to Chelsea in a possible £100million transfer.

Antonio Conte’s side may now feel they are in a stronger position to bring in the Argentina international striker in January if Real Madrid pay their attention elsewhere.

With Spain international striker Diego Costa leaving for Spanish La Liga side Atletico Madrid, there has been over-reliance on Spaniard Alvaro Morata to lead the front line for the Blues, who have not been as strong as they were last term.

Icardi’s brilliant form so far this campaign could see the forward become a valuable figure for an elite side like Chelsea or Real Madrid, with the 24-year-old netting an incredible 16 goals in 16 Italian Serie A games in 2017/18.
