Alvaro Morata under severe threat already as Antonio Conte identifies three winter transfer targets

According to reports, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is keen on his side signing a new forward, a top class midfielder and a solid left-back as top priorities for the January transfer window.

The tactician already signed striker Alvaro Morata during the last summer, but wants a good challenger to the Spain international forward than the unreliable and inconsistent Belgian Michy Batshuayi.

The Blues lost an influential player in Spaniard Diego Costa and, for all his top quality in the forward line, Alvaro Morata is a different style of a striker.

As per the Telegraph, the former Juventus boss plans to discuss his primary targets with Billionaire owner Roman Abramovich later on, but he has already decided on signing a credible competition for the former Real Madrid striker and for left wing-back Spaniard Marcos Alonso.

The article also lists Everton forward Ross Barkley as a transfer target in the middle despite failure to sign the England international last summer.

Chelsea instead signed from Leicester City Danny Drinkwater in that role, and it looks like he is another new figure who may have failed to convince Antonio Conte so far.

Despite strolling to the English Premier League title last term, the Blues already look out of the race this season and it’s little shock to see them look to reinforce in the next transfer market in an attempt to turn things around.
