Juventus star player Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly given a transfer request to the club chiefs to secure the signature of his former teammate and Real Madrid star Raphael Varane ahead of the coming summer transfer window.

A Spanish publication SPORT claims that the Portuguese international is willing to unite with the Frenchman and has told the club to do all in their power to secure the signature of the 25-year-old.

Raphael Varane has been impressive for the La Liga outfit over the years but recent development hints that he is unhappy at the club and will consider a move away from the club should he receive a luring offer.

However, the request by Cristiano Ronaldo to land Raphael Varane has unsettled English Premier League outfit Man United as they are also linked with the player and are willing to finalize a deal in the summer as well.

Raphael Varane has been on United’s wish list for a long time with their former boss Jose Mourinho making efforts to land him but was unsuccessful.

Now that the club’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward seems to be interested in the deal, they now face competition from the Italian side and they might not be able to match them in terms of financial strength.
