Chelsea to receive huge pay for the sale of this England striker

Premier League defending Champions Chelsea lost a big part of their academy setup last summer when England striker Dominic Solanke left for Liverpool when his deal at the West London club expired.

The forward was frustrated with a lack of playing time at Stamford Bridge having only played once for the Blues senior setup and opted that Liverpool could give him those opportunities that the Blues couldn’t give him and having played 10 matches already this season for Jurgen Klopp’s side, perhaps his decision is well justified.

According to FA rules, the Blues have a right to a compensation fee from the Reds for Dominic Solanke despite the striker leaving for nothing, and so far a figure hasn’t been agreed upon.

After turning down Liverpool’s initial £3million bid, the Blues look prepared to take things to a tribunal who will pronounce a mandatory figure, with Chelsea looking for a fee more than £10million.

Solanke, 20, was England’s best performer as they secured the Under-20 FIFA World Cup crown last summer, finishing as the competitions top goalscorer and awarded the player of the tournament.

This development is good to Chelsea’s ears, say media outlet the London Evening Standard, as Chelsea plan on using this international senior invitation in their case against the Reds to secure a bigger fee, and that will only strengthen their position.

The Blues will now likely receive a much bigger fee now than they would have received if the Liverpool star had yet to have gotten a senior call-up.
