Arsenal manager Unai Emery is reported to have turned his attention to La Liga outfit Getafe defender Djene Dakonam ahead of the coming summer transfer window.

The North London outfit boss has been interested in the star defender for a long time which is the reason why he embarked on a scouting journey to watch the star player in their goalless draw against Valencia on Sunday.

The Gunners and Barcelona had submitted formal offers for Djene Dakonam in the last summer transfer window and they are set to battle again in this coming window with claims that the La Liga giants have not given up on his signature.

The talented 27-year-old defender has a running contract with Getafe and a release clause of £31 million.

The North London boss has already given the hint that there will be additions to the team in the summer window after failing to do businesses in the last January winter transfer window.

A major priority for the North London outfit is the defence and Djene Dakonam has been tipped to be a great addition as the future of France international defender Laurent Koscielny could be on his way out. He is being wanted by a number of teams in the La Liga.
