Arsenal are unwilling to meet Leicester City’s valuation for Riyad Mahrez, according to reports.
The Algerian winger has handed out a transfer request to the Foxes after getting frustrated at their poor outing in the Premier League last season, sparking interest from the likes of Barcelona, Paris Saint Germain and Arsenal.
Recent reports have it that the Gunners are the only club vying for the signature of Mahrez and have approached Leicester City for the possibility of signing the winger with a £30million bid for the player.
Reports in the Daily Mail have it that Gunners are unwilling to meet Leicester City’s £50million transfer asking price for Riyad Mahrez, leaving the player in a balance.
It is understood that Arsene Wenger views Mahrez as a backup option to AS Monaco winger, Thomas Lemar who is also open to an Emirates move.
The 26-year-old is regarded as one of the best playmaker in the Premier League after his heroics that saw the Foxes lift the title against all odds but could not repeat his performances for Leicester last season as they lagged in the league.
There are suggestions that Arsene Wenger is not convinced about paying £50million for the player due to his displays last season, that saw him score just six goals and three assists.

![Not many Liverpool fans are aware of a player called Armin Hodzic - and that is understandable. Armin Hodzic is a player Liverpool signed from Željezničar in May 2011. He stayed on Liverpool’s books until his contract ended back then in 2014 - including him taking a loan spell back at his previous club Željezničar. Since he was not able to breakthrough at Liverpool, the striker was forced to search for a new club and was taken up by Dinamo Zagreb. The 22-year-old is now a full international for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Hodzic is progressing well at Dinamo and has been speaking to Croatian newspaper Vecernji List. He was asked what advice he would give to a 17 year old with an offer from Liverpool ( basically what advice would he give his former self) His response sounds like he enjoyed his time with the Reds, and still has a lot of respect for the premier league club. He first of all attested to the fact that it is not quite easy to leave your family when young, but he would advice youngsters to remain focused on the pitch. “And it is above all always an honour to receive [an] invitation from a great club. It was one of the happier times in [my] life when I was in Liverpool, surely that situation helps to [you] develop as a person and as a player.” He certainly sounds like he doesn’t regret his time at The Anfield club even if he wasn’t able to make the breakthrough.](https://234sport.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/armin-hodzic-768x432.jpg)
