Manchester United have confirmed the signing of Romelu Lukaku from Everton.
The 24-year-old has been a subject of transfer interest from Chelsea and United this summer, with reports that the Blues had an upper hand in the pursuit, making constant contact with player who left Stamford Bridge after failing to get into the plans of former boss, Jose Mourinho.
However, United were reported to have moved ahead of Chelsea in the transfer pursuit, agreeing a £75 million deal with Everton for the services of Lukaku and the club have now confirmed the news on his social media account with an official statement which reads:
‘Manchester United is delighted to announce that it has agreed a fee with Everton for the transfer of Romelu Lukaku. The transfer is subject to a medical and personal terms.
‘A further announcement will be made in due course.’

The Belgian midfielder is currently on a summer holiday with new teammate, Paul Pogba who is believed to have helped convince the striker to move to the Old Trafford.
Reports on Friday evening have it that Chelsea made a last-ditch attempt to hijack the deal from Manchester United by matching their transfer offer for Lukaku but it appears the deal was already done.
