Chelsea Midfield Anchorman Keen On Joining Manchester United This Summer

Manchester United are edging closer to a stunning summer move for Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic, according to reports.

The 27-year-old has been a key figure at the Stamford Bridge since he returned to the club from Benfica after his initial transfer move away as a youngster.

Matic played a vital role under Antonio Conte last season, alongside N’Golo Kante that was a solid performer for the Blues but there are reports that Conte is keen on bringing another midfielder to his current squad in a bid to have a stronger team ahead of next season.

There are speculations that Chelsea have begun talks with AS Monaco over the possibility of signing Tiemoue Bakayoko this summer, as Conte eyeing an excellent partnership between Kante and his fellow Frenchman.

Reports in the Sun claim that Matic is open to the idea of leaving Chelsea this summer and will fancy a reunion with Jose Mourinho at the Old Trafford.

It is understood that Mourinho is considering a swoop for the anchorman with hopes of bringing in more steel to his midfield ahead of next season.

Italian giants, Juventus have also been linked with a move for Matic this summer, with reports that the Blues will prefer to sell to a non-English club.
