Arsenal Linked With German Midfielder Swoop

Arsenal have again been linked with a move for VFL Wolfsburg forward Julian Draxler again ahead of the transfer window, which opens next month according to a report from popular news outlet Daily Express.

Former Schalke 04 star Draxler has endured a torrid season so far at the Volkswagen Arena this season with his club struggling and fans have made him the scapegoat for declaring publicly that he would like to leave the former Bundesliga champions in the summer.

Draxler has been a long time target of Arsenal and their boss Arsene Wenger, who is a big admirer, was strongly linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in the summer and even came close to joining Italian Serie A champions Juventus before the deal went south.

For the Gunners to however get their man they would need a princely sum of around £30m as per the same Daily Express report though it remains to be seen whether they would be brave enough to spend that kind of money especially for a player, who has struggled this season on and off the pitch for his German side.

On the other hand, he is still a quality addition that could help Arsenal push for the league title that has eluded them for 12 years.
