According to new reports circulating in the English media, the premier league duo of Liverpool and Arsenal have held talks with Southampton FC star player Virgil van Dijk ahead of the summer transfer window.
The defender has been able to make just two Premier League appearances in 2017 as a result of injury. However, he continue getting interest from top clubs in the country.
Already, Chelsea and Manchester City have all been linked with Van Vijk, and even Manchester United were also said to be after his signature.
As things stands now, the Daily Mirror just revealed that both Arsenal and Liverpool have met with the 25-year-old’s advisors last week.
As this season approaches it end, the Anfield club and the Emirates club are both seeking to bolster their defensive options ahead of the 2017-18 campaign.
The defender now has a handful of options to choose from amongst the top clubs seeking his signature. And perhaps, we thought he might want to choose a club that will play in the Champions League next season.
Arsenal lost 2-0 to London rival Tottenham Hotspur yesterday at White Hart Lane, and with just four matches left to play before this season end, it is not sure if they can finish among the top four on the table.
