Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema has reportedly told his agent to push for a summer move, putting the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United on red alert.
The 29-year-old has not been convincing in the current campaign for Real, scoring 17 goals in 42 games so far leaving Zinedine Zidane unimpressed with his performances, with speculations that the Spanish giants are willing to cash out on the French forward this summer.
Arsenal have been credited with an interest in Benzema with reports that Arsene Wenger is a long-term admirer of the striker’s qualities since his days in the French Ligue 1 with Olympique Lyonnais. Manchester United are also in search of forwards following a devastating injury to Zlatan Ibrahimovic coupled with uncertainties in Wayne Rooney’s future with the club.
Reports in Spanish outlet, Don Balon claim that the Frenchman is keen on leaving the Santiago Bernabeu this summer, this comes after he was booed during Real Madrid’s 2-1 win over Valencia last Saturday.
There are speculations that Madrid will be willing to add Benzema in a swap deal that will see Manchester United keeper David De Gea move to the Santiago Bernabeu next season.
Arsenal could also move again for the striker next summer, having failed in a bid to sign him in recent seasons.
