United warned against Juan Mata transfer decision

English Premier League side Manchester United have been warned against allowing Juan Mata to leave the club when the winter transfer window eventually reopens in the coming weeks.

This warning was given by former United star and BT Sport pundit Owen Hargreaves as he stated that the star player should be handed a new contract at the Old Trafford.

Juan Mata’s contract at the Old Trafford would be due by next summer which makes him linked away from the club with rivals Arsenal and his former side Valencia seeking for his signature.

The star player remains a major part of the manager Jose Mourinho team knowing that he has been a regular at the club but he is yet to be handed a new deal with negotiations yet to begin.

However, Owen Hargreaves says United will have no choice than to have the player stay at the Old Trafford because of his quality both off and off the pitch.

The Red Devils have had a very slow start of the season which keeps them sixth place in the Premier League and they will hope to have a turn the situation around with more additions to the team when the winter transfer window eventually reopens.
