United Received Boost To Sign £30million Serie A Star Who Dreams To Play In England

A new report emerged that Serie A giant AS Roma are ready to sell their centre-back defender Antonio Rudiger in the January transfer window.

The Daily Mail said Mourinho led Manchester United are interested in signing the defender and Roma are ready to take advantage of the red devils’ interest so as to comply with the financial fair play rules. The report claims that the deal could command in excess of £30million by selling the German.

However, the report stated further that Manchester United aren’t the only team who have interest in getting Rudiger’s signature in January, but will have to compete with other big English teams like Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester City too for the Germany international.

23-year old Rudiger had some injury troubles earlier this year, which made him missed most of Roma’s opening games of the season. However, the centre-back returned to first-team action for Roma in their 3-1 win at Sassuolo on October 26th and has since played 575 minutes in all competitions for the club.

Signing a new centre-back is reported widely to be United’s boss Jose Mourinho’s priority for the January transfer window, as both defenders Eric Bailly and Chris Smalling have had their fair share of injury problems since the start of the season.

Despite the fact that United duo of  Rojo and Jones have been doing very well as centre-back partners since last month, the red devils could still do with another option in the heart of the defense.
