Two Chelsea players who should have been impressive against Derby County

Derby County could have defeated Chelsea FC right at Stamford Bridge during the Carabao Cup but the Rams players on two occasions scored home goals thus giving Chelsea a chance.

The Blues midfielder, Cesc Fabregas went ahead to scored the third goal giving Chelsea an edge.

However, Chelsea’s assistant coach, Gianfranco Zola in a post-match statement has made it known that the game calls for a lot of improvement in the Blues side.

Coach Zola affirmed it was a hard win for Chelsea.

According to the Blues legend, he stated that ‘it was more than a little bit (shaky), especially towards the end.’

He also applauded Derby County for their performance as he said, ‘they really played well, they surprised us.’

Gianfranco Zola hinted that the Blues defense was poor and he had expected that the duo of Gary Cahill and Andrea Christensen will be impressive during the game.

He said,

  • “I thought Gary and Christensen could have done better with the ball in the first half.”

Coach Zola, however, hinted that the two defenders will work towards getting better during training.

he said,

”we will go through this and discuss this [with them].”

Chelsea will be back in action this weekend as they will be playing against Crystal Palace in the EPL.
