Revealed, how City attempted to snatch Fred from United

It has been revealed that Manchester City made frantic effort to snatch midfielder Fred from Manchester United.

This was revealed by the player himself ahead of Sunday’s Manchester derby when he revealed how he turned down Pep Guardiola to answer the call by manager Jose Mourinho.

The Brazil international joined the Old Trafford from Shakhtar Donetsk in June within the fee of £52million, as he revealed that he could not turn down the call from the Portuguese boss

Fred admitted he was almost convinced to go the other side of Manchester but that did not happen at the end of the day because he knew United was the best destination for him.

The Brazilian praised the former Chelsea boss, describing him as a top professional who is admired by all players. He added that it has been continuous learning processes for him since he started working with self proclaim ‘Special One’.

Meanwhile, the Fred midfielder revealed that what is being perceived of the manager is not what it is because Mourinho remains a friendly and funny manager to the players off the pitch with his jokes in the dressing room.

Fred has kept hope alive as he has not been a regular at the club including being an unused substitute in United’s 2-1 victory over Juventus in Turin on Wednesday night.
