Arsenal are currently interesting a number of players owing to their resurgence this season under manager Unai Emery and this time, they are showing more strength in doing some deals with interested players.

Juventus centre-back, Medhi Benatia according to reports in Italy has shown interest in the club and it has been revealed that the Gunners have made their first contact with the Italian side for the player.

TMW report that Benatia is unhappy with the situation at the club where he has only seen 5 starts so far this season and wants to quit in the January window which hands advantage to the North London club who are looking forward to adding to their strength at the back.

Juventus are also reported to have responded to the interest in the player by requesting for as low as £13 million for the all-important player knowing that he has got a contract with the club until 2020.

Meanwhile, his coming is expected to return competition to the North London defence which has been described as being weaker than the attack.

It has been a different Arsenal team so far this season with their spirit and quality in the attack but that cannot be said of the defence.
