Report: Liverpool Could Make Another Surprise Signing This Summer

Jurgen Klopp has been exciting this summer and has added a lot of smiles to the faces of Liverpool’s fans all over the world.

The German boss has wasted no time strengthening his team ahead of the new Premier League campaign following his Champions League final disappointment at Kiev.

The former Borussia Dortmund boss started his summer spending by paying £40m to Ligue 1 heavyweights Monaco for the signature of Brazil international Fabinho.

He also welcomed African midfielder Naby Keita to Anfield after Liverpool agreed to a £48m deal with Bundesliga side RB Leipzig last season.

The Merseysiders were triumphant in their race for the signature of Switzerland international Xherdan Shaqiri and they welcomed the player from Stoke City to improve the attack department.

They also splashed a world-record fee (£67M) to sign goalkeeper Alisson Becker from AS Roma.

However, it is understood that Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk is demanding that the club should sign a superb centre-back partner for him this summer.

According to Daily Record reporter Ian McGarry, the club can actually sign a defender that will become Van Dijk’s partner before the closure of the window.

Klopp’s side finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last term and have won a ticket to participate in the Champions League next season.
