Arsenal defender expects Sanchez and Ozil to make this transfer decision

In an exclusive interview with Independent, Arsenal fullback Nacho Monreal is sure that his teammates, Chilean Alexis Sanchez and German Mesut Ozil, will stay at the Emirates Stadium, at least until the season runs out.

With both Chile international Alexis Sanchez and Germany international midfielder Mesut Ozil starring in the first North London derby victory of the season last weekend, many fans believe that they may leave in January with their Arsenal contracts up in the summer of next year, however, the Arsenal defender expects both Superstars to remain in London with Arsenal until the summer.

Former Barcelona forward Alexis Sanchez is hopeful of forcing through a move to Premier League giant Manchester City, after failing to link up with Pep Guardiola’s team in the summer, while Mesut Ozil has been strongly linked with a transfer to fellow English Premier League team Manchester United and Spanish La Liga heavyweights FC Barcelona.

Discussing ahead of the gunners UEFA Europa League match on Thursday night against German Bundesliga side FC Cologne, the Spain international defender was questioned about the future of his teammates.

The defender said he can’t say much about the transfer situation as it does not depend on him, but noted the two players are vital members of the squad.
