Luciano Spalletti target to remain in Italy forever

As reported by The Sun, Inter Milan manager Luciano Spalletti has claimed that Chelsea will fail in their £100m pursuit of forward Mauro Icardi.

According to The Sun earlier in the month, Chelsea manager Antonio Conte wants to play Icardi with Spain international striker Alvaro Morata and he is ready to pay a whopping £100million to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

However, the same publication claim that Luciano Spalletti believes that Icardi, 24, could remain with the Italian Serie A club “forever” following his brilliant start to the Premier League season.

The Sun reports that as well as Premier League Champions Chelsea, Bundesliga side Bayern Munich and La Liga Champions Real Madrid are also interested in the Argentina international forward.

The Inter Milan captain has netted 13 goals in 13 Italian Serie A matches this season for the Italian side as they sit in second place in the Serie A table and only two points behind leaders Napoli at the top.

Mario Icardi has displayed by the fact that he is the team’s captain that he is a great leader, and his goalscoring records this season suggest that he could make a big impact at Chelsea.

Whether the Argentine is worth £100million may be up for arguments and debate, but the striker is still has a couple of years ahead of him and he will surely be a good investment.
